How do I get into the facility?

It’s easy and fully automated. When you approach the door, click the ‘Reservation’ tab of your Pickleball Nation app and select your appointment. Tap the ‘Unlock Door’ button, and the door will unlock for you. The ‘Unlock Door’ button will appear 30 minutes before your reservation begins and will be active for the entire duration of your reservation.

How long can I stay at the facility?

You can access the facility between 30 minutes before and 10 minutes after your booking. We ask that you be courteous to other customers by leaving the facility within 15 min after your reservation has ended. The facility is live monitored 24/7, and customers that significantly overstay their time on the court or ignore voice downs will be administered a financial penalty.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

Yes, you should bring all equipment required to play. The facility will soon be equipped with vending machines for paddle rentals, ball purchases, and other drinks, snacks, and gear.

Can I bring guests?

Accepted Answer

Yes, up to 6 people may use the facility as part of a single reservation. You must invite your guests through the app or website and each of your guests must create their own account (they must also be sure to sign the waiver). You can even use the Pickleball Nation app to split the bill among your guests automatically. Guests who are not actively playing should make use of the available seating so that they do not get in the way of customers using other courts.

Do you have food or drinks?

Yes, there are snacks and drinks available for sale in the vending machines. There is also a hydration station in the lounge area to refill your water bottle.

Can I bring outside food or drinks into the facility?

Accepted Answer

You may bring single-serve (i.e., no large bottles) non-alcoholic drinks and small snack items (e.g., energy bars) into the facility. However, we ask that you not drink or eat (except water) on the courts. Please confine any eating or drinking to the seating in the lounge area.

Is there a shower?

No, we do not have showers, saunas, steam rooms, or yoga studios in this facility. This place is for pickleball baby!  We do have washrooms and changing stalls available.

Can I cancel my booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can easily cancel your reservation from the 'My Bookings' tab by clicking 'Cancel Reservation.' There is no charge to cancel a reservation within 10 minutes of booking it or at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, you will be charged for the court time in full. If you feel there are extenuating circumstances for a late cancellation, email us at info@thepickleballnation.ca.

Question 9

What happens if I run over my allotted time?

If you stay on the court more than 5 minutes past your reservation, or after being asked by the next reservation, we will contact you via the screen on the side of the court. If you ignore these instructions or in any way act disrespectfully to others, you will automatically be charged you for an additional hour. Please make sure you clear the court when your reservation is finished and treat all other members and guests with respect and courtesy.

Is smoking, vaping, or alcohol allowed?

No. Neither smoking nor vaping is allowed in the facility. We will charge you a penalty of up to $500 + any other fines administered by the authorities as a result of non-compliance with this rule, and your account may be suspended. Pickleball Nation does not serve alcohol, nor are customers permitted to bring their own alcohol onto the premises.

What are the penalties for breaking the rules?

We reserve the right to charge fines and penalties for any breach of the code of player conduct.  Penalties will vary depending on severity and pattern of behaviour and will escalate for repeat offenders.  Players will be held fully responsible for any breaking or mistreatment of equipment, or for showing disrespect or lack of courtesy to other players.  In these cases your account may be suspended, in addition to the administration of penalties.

How many washrooms and changerooms do you have?

Pickleball Nation has 2 washrooms and a separate changing room with private stalls for your convenience.

Are you open to booking corporate or other large group events such as birthdays?

I want to play at the same time every week, how can I schedule that?

Depending on your membership type, you will be able to book your preferred time 10-14 days in advance.  However, if you would prefer to schedule a set time each week further in advance, we have available a Standing Court Time option that allows players to book a regular game time at the same time each week. Please submit your request here: Standing Court Time and we will get back to your ASAP!

Can I share a replay with others on social media?

Yes! Capture the game by pressing the replay button on the court-side iPad device when a notable moment occurs. This action saves a short video clip of the recent play.  After your session, open the App, navigate to your game history to find the saved reply, download the clip, and share on your preferred social medial platform.  For longer footage, you are also able to order a custom replay within 48 hours of your session.

How does open play work?

Pickleball Nation offers a variety of Open Play options:

(1) Social Play: Looking to meet new people, enjoy some friendly rallies, and have fun on the court? Our Social Play sessions are open to everyone—whether you’re brand new to pickleball or have been playing for years. Players of all skill levels mix in, rotate partners, and enjoy casual, low-pressure games. It’s the perfect way to improve your game, get some exercise, and connect with the pickleball community. Social Play follows a "4-on/4-off + Winners-Stay-Split": 
- Game length: Play to 11, win by 2 (capped at 13).
- After each game, the winning team splits: each player on the winning team pairs with one of the next two players in line. 
- The two losing players move to the back of the queue.

(2) Level Play: Take your game to the next level with our Level Play sessions. Designed for players who want competitive, evenly matched games, these sessions are organized by DUPR rating. You’ll join a court with players at your skill level, ensuring fair play, faster rallies, and more opportunities to sharpen your game. Whether you’re working on climbing the ratings ladder or just want a consistent challenge, Level Play is the place to push yourself while still enjoying the fun and community of pickleball. Level Play follows a "4-on/4-off + Winners-Stay-Split": 
- Game length: Play to 11, win by 2 (capped at 13).

(3) Stack Play: Want lots of action and a chance to test yourself against a variety of players? Stack Play keeps things moving with a simple system: self-assess as a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, then place your paddle in the rack. When it’s your turn, you’ll pick from the rack to form the next game. Winners and losers alike head to the back of the line, ensuring quick rotations, fresh matchups, and endless fun. It’s organized, fast-paced, and a great way to challenge yourself while meeting new people.

Absolutely! Our facility is fully heated and air-conditioned, so you can enjoy pickleball in comfort all year round. No matter the weather outside—hot, cold, or anything in between—you’ll always play in a perfect, climate-controlled environment.

Yes! Pickleball Nation organizes and hosts its own tournaments, but can also accommodate requests if you are looking to organize a tournament. Our courts and facilities are designed to ensure an equitable playing experience for all tournament participants.

This guarantees your spot and takes the hassle out of weekly bookings. Do you have a no-show policy?  What happens if I join multiple courts at the same time?

Our goal is to give as many players as possible the opportunity to play.  Signing up for a court reservation and an open play session at the same time, for example, takes up the space of someone else who could otherwise be fully engaged in the singular session.  Please limit your reservations to one court at a time - failure to do so may result in a no-show charge.  Our no-show policy is below:

No‑Show Policy
To ensure fair access to court time for all players, the following applies to all court reservations:
1. No‑Shows
A reservation is considered a no‑show if the player does not arrive and check‑in by the scheduled start time, or else schedules, or leaves to play on, a different court at the same time. In this case, the full reservation charge applies.
2. Repeated No‑Shows
Repeated no‑shows may lead to restriction of future booking privileges at the club’s discretion.
3. Club Credits
If credits were used for a reservation and a no‑show occurs, no refunds or credits will be re‑issued for that reservation.
4. Grace Period
Pickleball Nation offers a 10‑minute grace period for cancellations after booking before any penalties apply. Check‑in after the scheduled start time does not extend play time or prevent a no‑show.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership at any time by providing 30 days’ written notice to us at info@thepickleballnation.ca. Your membership will remain active during the notice period, and any applicable charges will continue until the 30 days have elapsed.

Can I pause my membership?

Accepted Answer

Memberships can be paused for a minimum of one (1) month, and the pause must begin on your membership renewal date. To arrange a pause, please contact us in advance at info@thepickleballnation.ca so we can align it with your billing cycle.
